The beach at Cayeux-sur-Mer: round pebbles and soft sand

The beach at Cayeux-sur-Mer stretches over 14km of pebbles at high tide and sand at low tide. The longest boardwalk in Europe can be found here. There are over 400 beach huts lining the seafront! The beach is supervised in summer and dogs are allowed on the beach (provided they are kept on a lead). In the central area, there is a swimming pool and a children's play area.

Activities to enjoy the beach all summer

During your holiday in Cayeux, get ready for some unforgettable moments by the water! Why not sample the thrills of kitesurfing on one of the most beautiful spots in Northern France? Fancy a bit of peace and quiet? Put on your lifejacket and go stand-up paddling, try your hand at sand yachting or take a sea kayak out to explore the surrounding area. Prefer a sea adventure? Treat yourself to a trip on a sailing boat from the port of Le Hourdel, or take your children on a sailing course for unforgettable memories. And of course, there's nothing like twirling your kite on the beach for a moment of pure pleasure!

Le Hourdel, its port, lighthouse and seals

Going south along Cayeux beach, head for Le Hourdel fishing port and its iconic white lighthouse! With its fishermen's cottages and picturesque atmosphere, it's the perfect place for a walk that will delight campers. Watch the boats return from fishing, in particular the grasshoppers fishing for grey shrimp. The view of the Baie de Somme from the pointe du Hourdel is simply breathtaking. Le Hourdel is also a well-known seal-watching spot. A real rendez-vous with nature! If you're coming by car, you can park in the Route blanche car park (fee payable).

From the campsite, follow the Route blanche on foot or by bike

Just a short distance from our camping site in Cayeux-sur-Mer, the Route Blanche is a greenway for bikes and walkers that links the hamlet of Le Hourdel to that of La Mollière. It takes around 5km round trip through the dunes. The path stretches along the ‘Cordon de Galets de la Mollière’, a 263-hectare protected site to the south of the Baie de Somme Nature Reserve. A walk not to be missed!
