Pebble beach or sandy beach depending on the tide, supervised swimming, mythical boardwalk, water sports activities and family atmosphere: welcome to the Grande Plage de Cayeux-sur-Mer in the Baie de Somme! Les Galets de la Mollière campsite tells you everything you need to know to make the most of it this summer. Get out your bathing suits!
A beach of pebbles at high tide and sand at low tide
Accessible from the town center, the beach at Cayeux-sur-Mer is made up of pebbles at high tide and a long strip of sand at low tide. When the sand disappears into the sea, only the upper part of the beach remains, with its magnificent pebbles.
Supervised swimming all summer long
From July 1 to August 31, bathing is supervised every day until 6.30pm. A first-aid post is set up to the right of the main beach entrance. So families can enjoy the sea in complete safety.
A lively family beach
Cayeux-sur-Mer’s Grande Plage is a family-friendly beach, perfect for beach games and swimming. The favorite area for families is in the town center, near the Casino. There’s a children’s playground and swimming pool. Cayeux is a lively seaside resort on the Somme in summer. Numerous festive events enliven the seafront: Fête de la Mer et des Marins, Cayeux-sur-Mer dinner cruises, fireworks displays…

A Blue Flag beach
This label attests to excellent bathing water quality and rewards local authorities for their commitment to the environment. A fine recognition for a clean, well-maintained Baie de Somme beach that respects the coastline.
Dogs welcome… outside the summer season
From May to September, dogs are not allowed near the bathing area. This is a hygienic rule that must be respected to ensure a clean and pleasant environment for all. Dogs are allowed on the beach, on a leash, for the rest of the year.
The Chemin de Planches: an emblematic site
At 2 km long, it’s the longest boardwalk in Europe! Lined with over 500 colorful cabins (some for rent), it gives Cayeux beach an irresistible Belle Epoque charm. Don’t miss it for a stroll along the seafront or a nice souvenir photo of Cayeux!

Water sports for all tastes
Surf, catamaran, paddle, kayak, wingfoil, longe-côte, surfcasting… here, you can try it all! The sailing school offers courses for young and old. The virtually enclosed stretch of water offers safe sailing conditions for the very young. With 250 days of wind a year, Cayeux is also a well-known kitesurfing spot in northern France.
Kite Festival in June
At the start of every summer, the Cayeux-sur-Mer kite festival takes to the skies again on the main beach and Chemin des Planches. A date to mark in your diary if you’re camping in the Baie de Somme in June!
A hike to Pointe du Hourdel
Cayeux’s coastline stretches 14 km to the Pointe du Hourdel. Following the “Route blanche“, you’ll pass through Brighton’s Pine Wood, skirt the sea and even catch a glimpse of the Baie de Somme’s famous seal colony. A walk not to be missed!
How to get to the beach from the campsite
