Cayeux-sur-Mer beach: round pebbles and soft sand
The beach at Cayeux-sur-Mer stretches over 14 km of pebbles at high tide and sand at low tide. This is where you’ll find Europe’s longest boardwalk. Over 400 beach huts line the seafront! The beach is guardedin summer , and dogs are allowed on the beach (on a leash). The central area features a swimming pool and children’s playground.

Le Hourdel, its port, lighthouse and seals
Head south along the Cayeux beach to the fishing port of Le Hourdel and its emblematic white lighthouse! With its fishermen’s cottages and picturesque atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for a stroll that will delight campers. Witness the return of the fishing boats, particularly the grasshoppers fishing for shrimp.
The view of the Baie de Somme from the pointe du Hourdel is simply breathtaking. Le Hourdel is also a well-knownseal-watching spot. A real rendez-vous with nature! If you’re coming by car, you can park in the Route Blanche parking lot (fee payable).
From the campsite, follow the Route blanche on foot or by bike
Just a stone’s throw from our campsite in Cayeux-sur-Mer, the Route Blanche is a greenway for cyclists and walkers linking the hamlet of Le Hourdel to that of La Mollière. It takes around 5 km round trip through the dunes. The path stretches along the “Cordon de Galets de la Mollière”, a 263-hectare protected site to the south of the Baie de Somme Nature Reserve. A walk not to be missed!
